Coron: Darayonan Lodge

The night before our trip, this was the text conversation between Froi and Oliver:
Oliver: Mukhang maganda yung hotel.
Froi: Naku si Misel pa, sobrang budget traveler nun. Don’t expect too much.
I am indeed a budget traveler. I think I fall somewhere in between a wannabe backpacker and a flashpacker. I don’t splurge on accommodations (unless it’s free) and my only criteria in choosing where we would stay are:
-        Absence of bed bugs
-        Clean bathrooms
-        Safety
-        Good location

This was the 2nd time Froi and I have stayed in Darayonan. The first time was in 2009 when we joined Travel Factor and were housed in a deluxe room. We enjoyed our stay before hence it was not a difficult decision to choose this lodging house once again.

The Guesthouse was lovely especially the gazebo adorned with the pink bougainvillea. It was such a romantic spot perfect for dinners.

They also added a swimming pool great for lounging at night.

The façade of this guesthouse was beautiful especially at night, but the rooms were very basic. In terms of service, the staffs were very accommodating and efficient. Our airport transfers were well-facilitated, and the complimentary breakfasts were served on time.

My only complaint would be the noise as well as absence of a rack where we can hang our wet clothes. For this trip, we booked the superior rooms and it was located right smack at the entrance, near the main road, and we were awakened by a drunk guy on a frenzy, as well as the guest complaining at their front desk.

If you are a budget traveler looking for an inn with rustic and charming ambiance, consider this as an option. But make sure to book a deluxe room especially if you are a light sleeper.
